Each painting tells a story
I paint people engaging in the everyday rituals of life, capturing them in vibrant colours and intricate details. My work is infused with a sense of humour, bringing a lightheartedness to the ordinary moments that make us human.
My process begins with photos, evolves through sketches, and culminates in the final creation. Living in our nation’s capital, I was inspired by its rich culture and diverse energy—stories that felt too important to remain unspoken.
Through my art, I aim to celebrate and preserve these moments, giving them the voice they deserve.
Artist Biography
I developed my unique style from studying Canadian Recognized artists: Maud Lewis, William Kurelek, Joe Norris and Ottawa’s Robert Hyndman.
A former student of the Ottawa School of Art, I have painted ever since I can remember, dreaming of being an artist one day.
My family heritage has been an important facet to my energy, boldness and creativity. As the granddaughter of Billy Bishop, the World War I flying ace, the great-great granddaughter of Timothy Eaton, the Canadian Department store entrepreneur and the great-great granddaughter of Ottawa pioneer settler, Daniel O’Connor, of Bytown, now the City of Ottawa, for this is who I am.
As an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the West Carleton Arts Society, I have participated in numerous exhibitions throughout Ottawa and surrounding area. My works hang in private collections in: Australia, Scotland, London, England, Hawaii, Florida, New York State, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Haida Gwaii.
